New Videos and RibFest Saturday Night!

We have some new videos up on our MySpace site, courtesy of Lightonious Jackson Films. Another is up on YouTube. Check them out on our MySpace site at www.myspace.com/snakebeard

And join us at the unofficial Summer kickoff party at RibFest 2007 in the backyard of the Sioux Falls Arena (okay, in parking lot E). We'll perform from 6:45-8pm on Saturday night, opening up for Kansas! On Sunday we head up north and Monday we begin the recording process for our first full length album. Check our MySpace and this very blog for updates from the studio.

Hope to see you covered in BBQ sauce with beverage in hand on Saturday night! Videos below.

A little time off does a band good

We've had a few weeks off to catch up on our lives outside the band and I think I speak for the whole band when I say we're excited to get back to business at ribfest this saturday. Not to mention the excitement about our upcoming trip to pachyderm studios in June... that's gonna be crazy. Did you hear that they have a trout stream right there that you can go fish in while you're taking a break from recording? Sounds like a studio made in heaven to me.

And if any of you come across any washboards, snag em for me. I can always use more. I go through about 1 a month when we're playing a lot and good ones are hard to find.

Peace

Every Now and Then

Every now and then we learn something about ourselves as a band. This weekend we played a gig where we got asked to turn the volume down. Like some unexpected explosion, all of Snakebeard Jackson went into a rock and roll mentality. We don’t like to be told to turn down!
The people still danced and the crowd had a great time. In fact we saw our very first conga line. But this band doesn’t like to be told to turn down. If it’s to loud then I guess you’re to old.

We may just seem like happy guys who enjoy a beer, music and friends. But No, friends and readers of this happy blog. There is a dark side to our rock band. We steal wine, and washboards. We don’t turn down! Rock and Roll will never die! And Snakebeard Jackson still rules the plains.
